On Monday, September 23rd, a 2 ½ -year-old boy lost his life after sustaining multiple
dog bite injuries in what proved to be a fatal dog attack. According to reports the boy, along with his four siblings, was at the home of a babysitter when three of the dogs in the home began fighting. Somehow the boy got in the middle of the dogfight and as a result suffered fatal dog bite injuries. A Gilbert Police Department spokesman stated that it appeared the boy's death was an extremely unfortunate accident and that the boy had simply "been in the wrong place at the wrong time." The babysitter, who tried to break up the dogfight, also sustained injuries to both her arms and legs requiring her to undergo surgery. Her injuries were not life-threatening.
