When an accident or injury occurs to a visitor or tenant living on another person's property, the owner of the property may be liable (legally responsible) if it can be proved that their negligence or recklessness led to the injury. IMPORTANT: If an insurance claims agent for the person at fault calls to "interview" you, decline -- at least until you have spoken with an attorney. Despite what the insurance agent might tell you, he is NOT "just trying to help."
